Everything you want to know

It all began in 2012 when we welcomed our first Maine Coon cats, a male and a female, into our family. What started as a passion for these magnificent felines has gradually blossomed into a full-time family endeavor as we added more Maine Coons to our cattery.

At Natalya Maine Coon Cattery, our cats are raised to become cherished companions for families who are ready to open their hearts and homes to our beloved Maine Coons. We find immense joy in reading testimonials from satisfied clients who have found happiness with our cats.

The life expectancy of a Maine Coon typically ranges from 12 to 15 years, with the average being around 13.5 years. Female Maine Coons often live slightly longer than males. Compared to the average lifespan of cats in the United States, Maine Coons enjoy a relatively long and healthy life.

Maine Coons are one of the largest domestic cat breeds. On average, they weigh between 10 to 25 pounds, with males typically being larger than females. Their long, muscular bodies and bushy tails make them stand out, and they can grow up to 40 inches in length from the tip of their nose to the end of their tail.
Adult Maine Coons are generally active and playful when awake, but they also enjoy their rest. A healthy, active adult Maine Coon will sleep anywhere from 13 to 18 hours each day, including naps.

However, for Maine Coons, the age equivalent to 8 to 10 years old in humans would be somewhere between 56 and 60 years. While this comparison can give a rough idea, it’s important to remember that cats, like Maine Coons, have different life spans and are biologically different from humans.

Maine Coons tend to live longer than many other cat breeds because they are generally a healthy breed. While they can experience some common health issues, these are often manageable and not typically fatal, contributing to their long life expectancy.
